Rex was pick of litter from my sweet Fizz, (Foxbarton Lady Chandon JW ShCM) and the gorgeous Sh Ch Janbell Jamieson JW, who, as well as being a prolific winner in the show ring, has an outstanding temperament.

Rex began his show career in Scotland, the weekend he turned 6 months, where he qualified for Crufts in his first class, under Ann Jordan, at the Scottish BC Club Ch Show. A fortnight later he qualified for Puppy Of The Year at West Of England BC Club Ch Show, under Liz Cartledge.

Three days later, he passed his Bronze KC Good Citizen Test, and the following day at Cobham Dog Training Club, he came 1st in the Intermediate Class end of term Obedience Test, clever boy. And to round the year off for me, he won Minor Puppy Dog at LKA Championship Show, in a class of 13.

He started 2013 winning Minor Puppy Dog at Boston Champ Show and got the hat trick, winning it again at Manchester Champ Show. In April, Rex came 1st in the Advanced Class end of term Obedience Test, at just 10 months of age, despite my having knee replacement surgery during the club term. He also passed the KC Silver Good Citizen Test, and followed up with the Gold Good Citizen Award at 13 months old, clever boy.

Rex is a joy to live with. He loves to work, loves to play with the other dogs, and he loves a cuddle too. And despite my having been out of the ring for 5 months of his Puppy/Junior year, having both my knees replaced, he has nonetheless gained his Junior Warrant, with 2 months, and 5 points to spare, bless him. ☺ Andrea Adshead gave Rex Best Of Breed at Chertsey & Dist CS, and wrote of him: "Foxbarton Kings Ransom JW, 2-Yr-old B&W male with a lovely outline, very good front, nicely sloping pasterns and good strong oval feet. Pleasing length of neck and lay of shoulder, strong topline and sloping croup. Masculine head, not overdone, good ears, dark oval eyes and correct muzzle, very good temperament. Moved very well showing typical border collie balance and moderation. Showed and handled well, won his class and BOB on his effortless smooth and driving movement. BOB."

Rex got the VHC in Mid Limit Dog, at Crufts 2015, under breed specialist Jo Ratcliffe, but a freak accident kept him out of the ring for most of the year, until South Wales in October, where he took the Res Challenge Certificate under Sonya Saxby, who had given his dam, my Fizz, the Res Bitch CC in 2008. ☺

Rex has sired 20 litters to date, and passes on his his excellent qualities to his offspring, including his brains and his wonderful temperament. He is available at stud to approved bitches. His two litters from my Black Sable bitch Bonny (Foxbarton Lady Orlando), have produced my two gorgeous Sables that I couldn't live without - Foxbarton Kings Knight (Dandy) and Foxbarton Kings Sable (Teazle), both of whom have their own pages ☺
