Welcome!
My name is Val Tiller and I live by the racecourse in Epsom (home of the Derby) in Surrey, England with my long-suffering husband Jim and our beloved Border Collies - the best dogs in the world! Our daughter, Sarah, is 26. She lives in London now, and is a Junior Barrister.
Foxbarton Border Collies began officially when the KC granted my affix, but I found my first Border Collie, Samson, back in the mid '70s. I say "found", because that's exactly what I did - he was a poor, nearly dying pup whom I eventually adopted through the RSPCA and as he blossomed I lost my heart to this wonderful breed.

I show my dogs, and have worked them in Agility and Working Trials and they all enjoy Companion Dog Training and occasionally Ringcraft classes. I enjoy judging and am a "B List" Breed Specialist Border Collie judge. I've bred 23 litters and they have all been such a joy. Foxbarton puppies are reared indoors as family, Microchipped, registered with the KC, eye and hearing tested and very well socialised.
I am a Kennel Club Assured Breeder, and hold all 3 Accolades. Foxbarton was inspected by the Kennel Club in 2010, and scored full marks.
Please visit my dogs by clicking on their names to the left. The 'cover boys' at the top of every page are best pals Wally & Leo.
As a qualified Microchip Implanter, I have chipped more than 600 dogs to date. I can chip your dogs for you, at my home or yours (within 20 miles of Epsom), or at dog shows and my rates are very competitive. Dog thefts are increasing rapidly and thieves scan dogs they steal. Only Microchipped dogs are released as unsaleable, and can be safely reunited with their owners. The Kennel Club now requires dogs to be Microchipped, before they will accept health test results. Please e-mail me for Microchipping details.
DNA Testing for Hereditary Diseases. Every February and September, I run clinics at Foxbarton, to help people breed healthier pedigree puppies. Owners may bring their dogs, or participate by post, to be tested for the diseases that Optigen LLC list on their website at www.Optigen.com. Since 2005, over 1,350 dogs have been tested through my clinics, thanks to my team of dedicated friends who help me. For details of how to get 30% discount on Optigen's fees, please e-mail me. All clinic proceeds go to research to develop further DNA tests, and to Border Collie & Sheepdog Rescue.
Border Collie Rescue is very important to me and although I don't have facilities to take in rescue Collies myself, I do lots of fundraising. The BC community is always generous and my fundraising schemes in 2010 yielded a fantastic £3,800 for Rescue and a further £3,500 in 2011.
In 2005, I began helping Di Whiting run Companion Dog Shows at her Shield Stables, in Shepperton, Middlesex. We run 2 super shows every year, in aid of Border Collie & Sheepdog Rescue and Pine Ridge Dog Sanctuary (Ascot). The 6 shows we ran in 2009-2011 raised £4,600 for Border Collies in need. The 2012 shows are on 30th June and 13th October. Keep an eye on Di's website www.shieldshow.com for full details, or email me for schedules, map and directions.
Please help me to support Border Collie Rescue - I sell a range of handmade Border Collie Greetings Cards and every penny of the proceeds goes to help the Collies. Click on the thumbnail photo on your left, to see a small selection of the cards. Just e-mail me and I'll send you the full range and details of how to order them direct from me.
There's no Guestbook, but please use the email link on the left to leave me a message, or for puppy & stud enquiries. Thank you.
